Character from Curse of Strahd by Tracy & Laura Hickman, Chris Perkins / Wizards of the Coast
The woman whose death sparked Strahd's eternal curse — she threw herself from Castle Ravenloft rather than be taken, and her soul has been reincarnating in Barovia ever since, forever hunted.
Tatyana was a Barovian noblewoman of extraordinary beauty who loved Sergei von Zarovich and was loved in return. On their wedding day, Strahd murdered Sergei and came for her, his hands still wet with his brother's blood. Rather than submit, Tatyana threw herself from the castle walls. Her body was never found. The Dark Powers seized her soul and bound it to an endless cycle of reincarnation within Barovia. Every few generations, a woman is born who looks exactly like Tatyana, and Strahd recognizes her, and the tragedy plays out again. The reincarnation never remembers her past lives, but she always feels a deep, unexplainable dread around Castle Ravenloft and an instinctive revulsion toward Strahd. Tatyana herself exists now only as a memory and a curse — the woman who chose death over the monster, and whose choice the universe will not let stand.
