Character from Curse of Strahd by Tracy & Laura Hickman, Chris Perkins / Wizards of the Coast
A revenant knight of the Order of the Silver Dragon who, unlike his commander Vladimir, still believes in doing the right thing — he is a potential ally trapped in a haunted ruin by his own loyalty.
Sir Godfrey Gwilym is one of the revenant knights haunting Argynvostholt, but unlike Vladimir Horngaard, he has not lost himself to hatred. He remembers what the Order stood for — justice, protection, the defense of the innocent. He disagrees with Vladimir's decision to let Strahd live in perpetual suffering, but he is bound by the chain of command even in death. Godfrey is a thoughtful, melancholy figure — a knight who keeps vigil in a ruin for a cause that has been perverted. He will speak honestly with adventurers if they earn his trust, and he may point them toward the secret that could lay the revenants to rest: returning Argynvost's skull to the manor's beacon.
