Character from Curse of Strahd by Tracy & Laura Hickman, Chris Perkins / Wizards of the Coast
Strahd's loyal chamberlain — a dusk elf exile who betrayed his own people to serve the vampire lord, forever surrounded by the screaming souls of those he has killed.
Rahadin is Strahd's most trusted servant, his chamberlain and enforcer for centuries. He is a dusk elf — one of the same people Strahd nearly exterminated — but Rahadin sided with the conqueror long before the genocide. He helped Strahd conquer the valley. He carried out Strahd's order to slaughter the female dusk elves. He did it without hesitation. A permanent aura of psychic screaming surrounds Rahadin — the death cries of every person he has killed echo around him in a cacophony that only those nearby can hear. He is unbothered by it. He considers it a mark of duty fulfilled. Physically, Rahadin is severe and precise — angular features, cold eyes, impeccable posture. He moves with a warrior's economy of motion. He speaks rarely and only when necessary, and his loyalty to Strahd is absolute. Not born of fear or compulsion, but of genuine devotion. He chose his master and has never wavered.
