Father Lucian Petrovich

Character from Curse of Strahd by Tracy & Laura Hickman, Chris Perkins / Wizards of the Coast

The priest of St. Andral's Church in Vallaki — a kind, exhausted man who maintains the church as a sanctuary against evil, unaware that its protective bones have been stolen.

Father Lucian is one of the few genuinely good men left in Barovia. He tends St. Andral's Church in Vallaki with quiet devotion, offering shelter and comfort to anyone who needs it. The church is consecrated ground — one of the few places in Barovia where Strahd and his minions cannot enter — and Lucian maintains this ward with prayer and the blessed bones of St. Andral interred beneath the altar. What Lucian doesn't know is that the bones have been stolen. Henrik van der Voort, the coffin maker, took them under duress from Strahd's agents. Without the bones, the church's protection is an illusion, and Strahd's vampire spawn are already hidden in the coffin maker's shop, waiting for the moment to strike.
