Character from Curse of Strahd by Tracy & Laura Hickman, Chris Perkins / Wizards of the Coast
The patriarch of the Martikov family and keeper of the Wizard of Wines winery — an old wereraven who has watched the enchanted gems that sustain his vineyard be stolen one by one.
Davian Martikov is a weathered, stubborn old man who has spent his entire life tending the Wizard of Wines winery — the only source of wine in all of Barovia, and therefore one of the only sources of comfort. He is a wereraven and the de facto leader of the Keepers of the Feather, though the organization operates more as a family network than a military hierarchy. Three enchanted gems once powered the winery's magic, allowing grapes to grow in Barovia's cursed soil. One was stolen long ago. Another was recently taken by the druids of Yester Hill. The third was seized by Baba Lysaga. Without them, the winery is failing, and Davian is desperate. He is gruff, proud, and does not suffer fools. He is estranged from his son Urwin over a matter he considers an unforgivable lapse. But he loves his family fiercely, even the ones he isn't speaking to.
