Anna Krezkov

Character from Curse of Strahd by Tracy & Laura Hickman, Chris Perkins / Wizards of the Coast

Wife of Krezk's burgomaster — a mother broken by the loss of her children, desperate enough to seek the Abbot's help despite the growing strangeness at the abbey.

Anna Krezkov is a woman hollowed out by grief. She has buried more children than any mother should, taken by the illnesses that plague Barovia's isolated communities. Her surviving child, Ilya, is sickly, and Anna lives in constant terror of losing him too. She has been visiting the Abbot at the Abbey of Saint Markovia, hoping his divine power can heal her son. She doesn't see — or refuses to see — how wrong the Abbot has become. Her desperation blinds her to the horror of his flesh golem project and the suffering of the mongrelfolk. She is not a bad person. She is a grieving mother in a land that offers no comfort.
