The city's population serves the Asteri directly — bureaucrats, soldiers, servants — and they live in a state of curated privilege that discourages dissent.

The architecture is grandiose to the point of oppression — every structure is designed to make visitors feel small. The Asteri's palace dominates the skyline, its towers reaching so high they disappear into perpetual cloud cover. The streets are immaculate, the gardens are perfect, and everything feels slightly wrong — too clean, too bright, too controlled.
