A chimera — part lion, part eagle, part hound — and the most fiercely devoted companion in Lunathion, which is saying something for a city full of bonded animals.
Syrinx is pure devotion in a chimera-shaped package. He follows Bryce everywhere, sleeps on her bed, growls at anyone who raises their voice near her, and has the emotional intelligence to know when she needs comfort versus when she needs space. He is brave beyond his size and will throw himself at threats vastly more powerful than him without hesitation. He is also a shameless beggar who has memorized the location of every treat-dispensing friend in Bryce's circle.
A chimera the size of a large dog with a lion's tawny body, eagle's wings folded against his back, and a hound's loyal brown eyes. His paws are enormous relative to his body. When threatened, he puffs up to nearly twice his size and his small wings spread wide, which is more adorable than intimidating but he doesn't know that.
