Morven

Character from Crescent City by Sarah J. Maas

The Fae King of Avallen — a traditionalist patriarch who rules through blood purity and iron control, making even the Autumn King look progressive.

Morven is the old Fae world incarnate: patriarchal, xenophobic, obsessed with blood purity and Starborn lineage. He rules Avallen as a closed society, resists modernization, and views the other species of Midgard as lesser. He arranged Cormac's betrothal to Bryce to consolidate Starborn power, treating both of them as breeding stock for political advantage. He is dangerous because he has institutional power and no conscience about using it. He is not dramatic about his cruelty — it's simply the way things are done.

Appearance

Tall and imposing with the dark coloring of Avallen Fae — black hair, pale skin, sharp features carved by centuries. He wears Avallen's traditional dark formal attire and moves with the deliberate weight of someone who expects the room to adjust to him.

Also known as: King Morven, Morven
