Character from Crescent City by Sarah J. Maas
A Prince of Hel who has been quietly backing Bryce since she was a child — a demon whose motives are suspiciously noble and whose knowledge of the Asteri runs older than Midgard itself.
Aidas is the most enigmatic player in the Crescent City saga. He speaks in carefully measured truths, reveals exactly as much as he wants to, and has been manipulating events since before Bryce was born. He loved Theia — the original Starborn queen — and his interest in Bryce is tangled with that ancient grief in ways that make his motives hard to parse. He is genuinely opposed to the Asteri, which makes him an ally, but he is also a Prince of Hel who views mortals and Vanir through a very different lens than they view themselves. He is courteous, patient, and terrifying in the way that all ancient beings who have survived millennia of conflict are terrifying — not through rage but through absolute certainty.
In his humanoid form, he appears as a strikingly handsome male with cat-like golden eyes, sharp features, and an elegant bearing. In his demon form, he is vast and terrifying — a cat-shaped entity of blue fire and shadow. He favors appearing in a white cat form when visiting Midgard, which is either humble or mocking depending on your perspective.
