Sky's Edge

Location from Cradle by Will Wight

A contested frontier region at the boundary of civilized territory — where Dreadgod cults recruit, remnants roam unchecked, and advancement is the price of survival.

Sky's Edge is where civilization ends and the Dreadgod-contested badlands begin. Sacred artists come here for three reasons: they're running from something, they're hunting for rare resources in the wilds, or they're fanatics looking to join a Dreadgod cult. The region has no permanent government — power belongs to whoever can hold territory against the next remnant wave or cult raid. The aura is wild and concentrated in unpredictable pockets, making it attractive for advancing artists willing to risk the corresponding dangers. It's the Cradle equivalent of a gold rush town — lawless, violent, and occasionally very profitable.

Appearance

Rugged, storm-scarred terrain with sparse settlements built for defense rather than comfort. Watchtowers line the ridges, manned by sacred artists scanning for remnant incursions and cult activity. The aura here is wild and unmanaged — rich in some areas, dangerously depleted in others where Dreadgod passages have stripped the landscape. Abandoned settlements and the ruins of previous failed colonies dot the terrain.
