Midnight is Reigan Shen's attempt to replicate the most powerful weapon in the multiverse: Ozriel's Scythe, the tool that can erase anything from existence. Shen's version is a pale shadow of the original — it can't unmake reality — but it can destroy anything on Cradle below Monarch level, which makes it the most dangerous weapon any non-Abidan entity has ever created. Shen commissioned it as part of his plan to bind the Dreadgods and reshape Cradle's power structure. The weapon represents his ambition distilled: if you can't have the real thing, build the closest approximation and use it to take everything else.
A massive scythe with a blade of absolute black — it doesn't reflect light, creating a silhouette against reality. The shaft is forged from materials that pulse with spatial and destruction madra. When swung, it leaves afterimages of void where the blade passed. The weapon has a presence — standing near it feels like standing near a hole in the world.
