Ziel

Character from Cradle by Will Wight

A once-great Archlord whose spirit was shattered by a Dreadgod cult — broken, exhausted, and slowly being pulled back to life by people who refuse to let him give up.

Ziel was the youngest Archlord in his generation — a prodigy of formation and script work who led a sect of talented young artists. Then the Dreadgod cults came and destroyed everything: his sect, his students, his channels, his reason to advance. What's left is a man who knows exactly how good he could be and can barely muster the will to cycle. He's dry, sardonic, and deeply tired. He helps Lindon's group because they asked and because saying no requires energy he doesn't have. Slowly, reluctantly, their refusal to accept defeat starts to rekindle something in him. He's the most talented formation master alive and he treats this fact with the enthusiasm of someone told they have a gift for filing paperwork. When he does commit to a fight, the glimpses of his former power are staggering — a reminder that his shattered state represents a fall, not a baseline.

Appearance

Stocky and muscular with green hair and curling ram-like horns growing from his temples — vestiges of a sacred beast bloodline. His eyes are dull with chronic spiritual pain, and he moves with the heaviness of someone whose madra channels are damaged. He wears simple, worn clothing and carries a massive warhammer. Everything about him radiates exhaustion.
