Fisher Gesha

Character from Cradle by Will Wight

A crotchety old soulsmith with an acid tongue and the best construct workshop on the Ashwind continent — she invested in Lindon before anyone else did and will never let him forget it.

Fisher Gesha evaluates everything — people, constructs, situations — with the unsentimental eye of someone who has been taking things apart and putting them back together for longer than most sacred artists have been alive. She's rude, dismissive, and calls everyone who doesn't meet her standards 'boy' or 'girl' regardless of their age or advancement level. She took on Lindon as a soulsmithing apprentice when he was a nobody and she's been loudly taking credit for his success ever since. Beneath the acid exterior is a genuine pride in her craft and in the students who earn her respect — which requires perfection, or at minimum, the willingness to redo something until it's perfect.

Appearance

Small, elderly, and wrinkled, with sharp eyes that miss nothing about a construct's craftsmanship. Her hands are permanently stained with soulfire residue and madra burn marks. She wears practical soulsmith's robes with pockets full of binding fragments and tools. A pair of spider-like soulsmith constructs follow her everywhere, clicking and adjusting themselves.

Also known as: Gesha, Fisher Gesha, the old soulsmith
