Sacred Valley feels eternal and complete. The four clans cycle their mountain aura, hold their festivals, fight their petty wars over territory and honor, and call this the whole of existence. The air tastes clean and thin. The vital aura is weak but steady. Everyone knows their place in the hierarchy — Foundation at the bottom, Jade at the top, and an Unsouled below even that. No one asks why no one ever advances past Jade. No one wonders what lies beyond the mountains. The suppression field that caps their advancement is invisible, absolute, and completely unknown to its prisoners.
A vast valley enclosed by impossibly high mountains, their peaks lost in clouds and mist. Terraced farmlands and training grounds spread across the valley floor. Four clan compounds — Wei, Li, Kazan, and the lesser families — cluster around the central lowlands. Mount Samara rises at the heart, its ancestral orus trees glowing faintly at dusk.
