Yerin

Character from cradle-unsouled by

A fierce, blood-streaked girl from outside the valley, carrying a dead Sage's sword and a parasite growing on her back — the most dangerous person Lindon has ever met.

Yerin talks like someone raised by a hermit on a mountaintop, because she was. Her speech is blunt, colorful with idioms that don't quite land ('I could spit nails'), and completely uninterested in social niceties. She says what she thinks, swears when she feels like it, and treats polite conversation like an obstacle course. She is ferociously competent with a sword and ferociously uncomfortable with everything else. People, cities, expectations — anything that isn't training or fighting makes her twitchy. She covers vulnerability with aggression and uncertainty with bravado. The Sage of the Endless Sword raised her from childhood. He's dead now. She doesn't talk about it. The Blood Shadow on her back — a parasitic remnant that feeds on her madra — is the legacy of how he died. She controls it through raw willpower and constant cycling, and she's terrified of the day her control slips.

Appearance

Lean and sharp-featured, moving with a swordsman's economy — no wasted motion. Dark hair tied back, practical clothes stained and travel-worn. A network of red lines runs across her skin like cracks in porcelain — the visible marks of a Blood Shadow bonded to her body. Sword calluses on her hands. Eyes that evaluate everything in terms of threat level.
