The untamed borderlands beyond Sacred Valley — a lawless frontier of dense aura, prowling remnants, and sacred beasts where only the strong survive.
The Desolate Wilds are what lies between Sacred Valley's mountain cage and the civilized edges of the Blackflame Empire. No faction claims this territory because holding it would cost more than it's worth — the sacred beasts are too aggressive, the remnants too unpredictable, and the aura too wild for stable cycling. Exiles, outcasts, and wandering sacred artists pass through. Most don't stay long. For Lindon, the Wilds are a brutal education. Everything he knew about the sacred arts in Sacred Valley was a fraction of reality, and the Wilds are where that fraction collides with the truth. The aura alone is dense enough to overwhelm his channels if he cycles carelessly.
Dense forests of enormous trees scarred by madra burns and claw marks. Vital aura seeps from the ground in visible waves, far denser than anything in Sacred Valley. Remnant trails glow in the underbrush like luminous fog. The terrain shifts between forest, rocky canyons, and clearings where sacred beast territorial battles have scorched the earth.
