Fisher Gesha

Character from cradle-soulsmith by

A cantankerous old soulsmith who takes Lindon on as an apprentice — her acid tongue hides genuine expertise and an eye for raw potential that others overlook.

Fisher Gesha doesn't suffer fools, and she considers most people fools. She's a master soulsmith — one of the best on the Ashwind continent — and she evaluates everyone who walks into her workshop by the quality of their madra channels and nothing else. Titles, advancement level, family connections: irrelevant. Can you hold a binding steady? Can you sense the stress points in a construct? No? Get out. She takes Lindon on as an apprentice because his pure madra gives him an unusual sensitivity to construct work — and because she's old enough and ornery enough to invest in potential that the rest of the world writes off. She teaches with insults, assigns impossible tasks, and calls him 'boy' regardless of how much he advances.

Appearance

Small, elderly, and sharp-eyed, with hands permanently stained by soulfire residue and madra burns. Wears practical soulsmith's robes with pockets full of binding fragments and tools. Spider-like soulsmith constructs follow her, clicking and adjusting themselves.
