Character from cradle-skysworn by
A sword artist conscripted alongside Lindon — her Blood Shadow is growing more dangerous as the Bleeding Phoenix stirs, and the line between weapon and parasite is getting harder to hold.
The Bleeding Phoenix is stirring and Yerin can feel it in her bones. Her Blood Shadow — the parasite she's been controlling through willpower and cycling since the Sword Sage died — resonates with the Dreadgod's awakening like a tuning fork. Every Blood Shadow outbreak they investigate as Skysworn makes hers harder to contain. She can sense the other Shadows, feel their hunger, and the worst part is that her Shadow is learning from them. She doesn't talk about it. She trains harder, fights more aggressively, and cycles with a desperation that looks like dedication from the outside. Lindon sees through it. Eithan definitely sees through it. She ignores them both because acknowledging the problem means acknowledging that she might not be able to solve it with a sword, and that's the only tool she trusts. The Skysworn uniform fits her better than it fits Lindon — she's always been more comfortable with hierarchy and orders than with ambiguity. Point her at something. She'll cut it. The problem is that the thing she most needs to cut is growing inside her.
Lean and sharp-featured, dark hair tied back. The red lines across her skin are more vivid now — brighter, spreading, visible even through her Skysworn uniform. Six silver Goldsigns hover behind her like folded wings. Her movements carry more tension than before, the constant effort of keeping the Shadow leashed bleeding into her posture.
