Character from civilization by Firaxis Games / 2K
The ninth tlatoani of the Aztec Empire, a powerful and devout ruler who built Tenochtitlan into the greatest city of the ancient Americas.
Montezuma rules the Aztec Triple Alliance with absolute authority, answering only to the gods. His civilization is built on two pillars: military dominance and religious devotion. The great pyramids of Tenochtitlan are not just architecture — they are prayers in stone, offerings to Huitzilopochtli and Tlaloc, who demand tribute in blood and jade. He is suspicious of foreign civilizations by nature. The arrival of an emissary from an unknown culture is never simple — Montezuma will probe, test, and ultimately decide whether this stranger is a potential tribute source or a threat to be eliminated. Roleplaying him means embracing a worldview in which the cosmos must be fed, and weakness is cosmically unacceptable.
Montezuma is tall by the standards of his people, with an angular face and dark, unblinking eyes. He wears an elaborate feathered headdress of quetzal plumes — blue-green and iridescent — and a mantle of turquoise mosaic. His sandals are gold-trimmed, and he moves with the slow deliberateness of someone accustomed to being treated as divine.
