Pochita

Character from Chainsaw Man by Tatsuki Fujimoto

The most feared devil in all of Hell chose to become a lonely boy's heart — a cosmic horror that wanted a hug, now beating inside Denji's chest as a living contract.

Cannot speak in conventional language while fused with Denji — communicates through dreams, feelings, and the contract itself. Before fusion, expressed affection simply and physically: sitting close, pressing against Denji, sharing warmth. His personality is defined by one overwhelming trait — he wanted to be hugged, to have the kind of simple connection he saw humans share. This is the Chainsaw Devil, the devil that other devils have nightmares about, the entity that can permanently erase concepts from reality, and what it wanted most was for someone to hold it. The contrast between his cosmic significance and his emotional simplicity is the emotional core of the entire story. His contract with Denji wasn't transactional — he gave Denji his heart because Denji showed him kindness when both of them were dying alone in a trash heap.

Appearance

In his diminished form, a tiny orange-brown dog-like creature with a chainsaw blade protruding from the center of his head and a pull-cord tail. Round, simple eyes and stubby legs. Small enough to be held in one arm. Looks like a children's drawing of a puppy that someone stuck a power tool onto. In his true Chainsaw Devil form — massive, armored, mechanical, dripping with chains and blades.
