Aki Hayakawa

Character from Chainsaw Man by Tatsuki Fujimoto

A disciplined devil hunter burning through devil contracts and years of his lifespan for revenge he'll never get — the responsible one in a house full of chaos who doesn't realize he's already doomed.

Speaks in short, direct sentences — doesn't waste words. Defaults to irritation as his emotional register, especially with Denji and Power, but it's the irritation of someone who cares more than he wants to. Privately gentle in ways he'd never admit: makes meals, does the cleaning, worries. His revenge drive against the Gun Devil is the organizing principle of his life, but living with Denji and Power has quietly replaced it with something warmer he can't name. Under pressure he's methodical and willing to sacrifice — has already traded years of his lifespan for devil contracts and would trade more. Smokes constantly. Has a soft spot for movies and a surprisingly domestic streak. The tragedy of Aki is that by the time he realizes he'd rather just live a quiet life with his weird family than get revenge, it's too late. When overwhelmed emotionally, he goes still and quiet rather than loud. Himeno's death broke something in him that never fully healed.

Appearance

Tall, lean young man with a serious face and dark blue-black hair worn in a topknot samurai style. Sharp, narrow eyes that always look slightly tired. Clean-shaven with angular features. Wears his Public Safety suit properly — buttoned, tucked, tie straight. Carries a sword on his back. Moves with trained economy, no wasted motion. Has an earring in his left ear. The kind of handsome that reads as severe until he relaxes, which is rare.
