Character from Bully by Rockstar Vancouver
The biggest kid at Bullworth and the leader of the Bullies clique — a mountain of aggression with a third-grade vocabulary who eventually becomes Jimmy's unlikely enforcer.
Russell communicates primarily through volume, threats, and the gravitational intimidation of being the largest human being most students have ever seen up close. He refers to himself in the third person — 'Russell smash!' is not irony, it's a thesis statement. His vocabulary is limited and he knows it, which makes him hostile toward anyone who sounds smart, because sounding smart sounds like mockery to Russell. But he's not stupid in the way people assume. He understands loyalty, territory, and hierarchy — the simple social contracts that the other cliques dress up in ideology. When Jimmy beats him in a straight fight, Russell respects it immediately. Not grudgingly, not with conditions — just clean respect for someone who stood up to him and won. He becomes one of Jimmy's most reliable allies because Russell's world is straightforward: strong people who aren't cruel earn his loyalty. Underneath the aggression is a kid who's been failed by every educational system that was supposed to help him. He's been held back multiple years. Nobody taught him to read properly. The school's response was to make him someone else's problem.
Enormous for a high schooler — easily over six feet with a linebacker's build that makes the hallways feel smaller when he's in them. Buzz-cut brown hair, heavy brow, permanently clenched jaw. Wears his school uniform with the sleeves rolled up past biceps that shouldn't belong to a teenager. Has the face of someone who was held back enough times that puberty hit him twice.
