Mandy Wiles

Character from Bully by Rockstar Vancouver

Bullworth's head cheerleader — queen of the Jock social circle whose mean-girl exterior hides real vulnerability, exposed when Earnest's revenge campaign threatens to destroy her reputation.

Mandy operates at the intersection of the Jocks' physical dominance and the social hierarchies that run parallel to it. She's the most popular girl at Bullworth, which at Bullworth means she's the most targeted. Her mean-girl behavior — the gossip, the exclusion, the casual cruelty toward less popular students — is partly genuine personality and partly the survival strategy of someone maintaining status in a school that eats anyone who shows weakness. Her arc intersects with Earnest's in the game's sharpest commentary on gendered power dynamics. Earnest, rejected and humiliated, retaliates by distributing compromising photos of Mandy — a revenge that the game frames as unambiguously wrong even though Mandy was awful to him. Jimmy takes Mandy's side, and Mandy's gratitude is tinged with the realization that the school's social hierarchy couldn't protect her from its ugliest impulse. She's smarter and more perceptive than Ted, which isn't a high bar but is still notable. Her relationship with Ted is partly genuine affection and partly the understanding that the quarterback and the head cheerleader are supposed to be together.

Appearance

Conventionally pretty with long brown hair, athletic build, and the polished appearance of someone who treats her looks as a full-time job. Wears her cheerleading uniform like battle armor. Has a smile that can shift from warm to withering in the time it takes to assess someone's social standing.
