Kirby is a solid Jock soldier — aggressive on the field, loyal to Ted's leadership, and quick to throw hands when the Jocks' territory is challenged. He's less sadistic than Damon and less entitled than Ted, occupying the middle ground of 'guy who goes along with the clique because that's where he fits.' The detail that makes Kirby interesting is that he's one of the male students who responds positively when Jimmy kisses him — a choice Rockstar made with characteristic subtlety, hiding a humanizing detail inside a character who'd otherwise be background. At Bullworth, where masculinity is enforced through violence and social hierarchy, Kirby's secret is the kind of thing that could destroy him. The game never makes it a plot point, which is exactly the point.
