Edna runs Bullworth's cafeteria with the iron fist and dubious hygiene of a lunch lady who stopped caring about food safety around the same time the school stopped caring about student safety. Her meals are legendary — not for quality, but for their ability to cause gastrointestinal distress on an institutional scale. Students eat her food because the alternative is starving, and the fact that this mirrors their relationship to Bullworth itself is not accidental. She has an unrequited crush on Dr. Crabblesnitch that she pursues with the same subtlety she brings to seasoning — which is to say, none. She's gruff, territorial about her kitchen, and will swing a ladle at anyone who crosses her, student or faculty alike.
