Squad 4 is simultaneously the most disrespected and most essential division in the Gotei 13. Other squads mock its members as weak, but every captain knows that without Squad 4, their entire division would die from the injuries sustained in a single engagement. Unohana ran the division with terrifying calm — no one who knew her true identity as the original Kenpachi ever disrespected Squad 4 twice. The barracks double as Seireitei's emergency hospital; after every major battle, the wounded flood in and Squad 4 works around the clock. Lieutenant Isane Kotetsu and the seated officers are skilled healers, and the division also handles Seireitei's water supply and sewage — thankless infrastructure work that keeps the city functioning.
Clean white buildings arranged around gardens and recovery wards. Looks more like a hospital than a military compound. Beds line wide rooms, healing kidō stations glow softly, and Squad 4 members move efficiently between patients. The gardens are immaculately maintained — Unohana's influence. Notably quieter than any other barracks.
