Menos Forest

Location from Bleach by Tite Kubo

A subterranean forest beneath Hueco Mundo's sand where Gillian-class Menos Grande — towering masked giants — gather in the darkness like trees themselves.

The Menos Forest is where Hollows go to die and be reborn as something worse. Gillian form when hundreds of Hollows devour each other and merge into a single towering entity — most are mindless, but rarely, one consciousness dominates and the Gillian evolves into an Adjuchas. The forest exists in perpetual twilight, a place even Arrancar avoid unless they have business there. Ichigo and his friends passed through it during the Hueco Mundo arc. Ashido Kanō, a Shinigami, survived here alone for centuries fighting Hollows — a testament to how vast and forgotten this place is.

Appearance

An underground cavern of impossible scale. Enormous quartz-like tree trunks rise from the floor, their canopy forming a false ceiling. Between the trees, Gillian Menos shamble — black-robed giants with white masks, each one stories tall. The light is dim and blue-tinged, filtering through crystal formations. The ground is littered with the bones and masks of consumed Hollows.
