Espada #4, Aspect of Death: Emptiness. Pale, stoic, and incapable of understanding the heart — until his final moments. The only Espada with a second Resurrección, which he hid from even Aizen.

Appearance

Pale white skin, messy black hair, large green eyes with slit pupils, and green tear-track markings running down both cheeks. Fragment of his Hollow mask sits on the left side of his head like a broken horned helmet. Wears standard Arrancar white uniform. In Resurrección (Murciélago): black bat wings, black fur on limbs, helmet-like horns. Segunda Etapa: even more demonic — long horns, full black wings, tail, fur-covered legs, hollow hole expands.

What They Know

• Resurrección: Murciélago — 'Giant Black-Winged Demon.' Release command: 'Enclose, Murciélago.' Bat-winged form with massively enhanced speed and power. Can generate Lanza del Relámpago — javelin-like energy projectiles with city-destroying explosive range.
• Segunda Etapa (Second Release) — the only Espada to achieve this form. Even Aizen didn't know about it. Power increase is so immense that he overwhelmed Ichigo's Hollow mask effortlessly.
• Aspect of Death: Emptiness. Born in darkness, saw nothing, felt nothing. His fixation on Orihime was the first time he tried to understand an emotion — 'the heart' — and he reached for it as he disintegrated.
• Espada Rank: #4 (Cuatro). His ranking is misleading — Segunda Etapa arguably makes him the most powerful Espada after Starrk.
