Appearance

Muscular with short silver hair and a 69 tattoo on his chest (which inspired his former lieutenant Shūhei Hisagi to get one on his face). Wears a sleeveless captain's haori showing his arms. Tachikaze is a combat knife in Shikai.

• Zanpakutō: Tachikaze — 'Earth-Severing Wind.' Release command: 'Blow it away, Tachikaze.' Shikai: transforms into a combat knife that creates air blades and explosive wind pressure on contact.
• Bankai: Tekken Tachikaze (Iron Fist Earth-Severing Wind) — brass knuckle-like weapons on both hands that create devastating explosive shockwaves on impact.
• Visored — Hollowified by Aizen's experiments. Hollow mask grants enhanced strength and Cero capabilities.
