Lieutenant of Squad 3. Melancholic, guilt-ridden, and loyal to a fault — served under Gin Ichimaru and carries that weight. His Zanpakutō doubles the weight of anything it strikes, forcing enemies to bow their heads for execution.

Appearance

Slim with blond hair that covers one eye, giving a permanently despondent look. Pale, tired expression. Standard Shinigami shihakushō with lieutenant's armband. Wabisuke has a square-hooked blade in Shikai, like a right angle.

What They Know

• Zanpakutō: Wabisuke — 'The Wretched One.' Release command: 'Raise your head, Wabisuke.' Shikai: a blade with a squared hook. Each strike doubles the weight of what it hits. After enough hits, the enemy is forced to their knees, head bowed — the position of a penitent awaiting execution. Then Kira cuts.
• Severely injured during TYBW — Mayuri rebuilt him with modified Soul technology, leaving him partially artificial.
