Shrouded Mountain Sect

Location from Beware of Chicken by Casualfarmer

A major sect in the Howling Fang Mountains that persecuted foxes for centuries — until three Fa Ram disciples triggered a civil war by telling the truth about its founding.

The Shrouded Mountain Sect was built on a lie — or at least a severe misunderstanding. Its founding mythology positioned foxes as inherently demonic threats, justifying centuries of persecution and a specialized hunting tradition. The Inquisitors enforced orthodoxy with the zealotry of true believers. Then Bi De, Ri Zu, and Yun Ren arrived as disciples sent by Shen Yu to investigate. They discovered the truth about the founding, revealed it, and triggered a civil war. Lu Ban and a female demonic cultivator had infiltrated the sect, manipulating its fox-hatred for their own purposes. Zhang Shenhe emerged from the chaos to reform the organization with imperial support, ending the blood feud with the foxes. The three Fa Ram disciples retain nominal membership and unrestricted access — the reformed sect owes them a debt it can never fully repay.

Appearance

A fortress-like sect compound in the Howling Fang Mountains, built around anti-illusion defenses and fox-hunting infrastructure. Despite its considerable resources, the internal architecture reflects paranoia — layers of wards, Inquisitor checkpoints, and penetration-testing for illusions at every level.
