Pandemonium is where Falconia keeps its truth. The apostles who protect the city's walls need entertainment, and captured monsters provide it. The dome houses the gladiatorial fights, the apostle quarters, and the raw reality that Griffith's utopia is guarded by demons. Most citizens know Pandemonium exists but don't visit or think about it — the same way people in any city don't think about what happens at the slaughterhouse. It's a necessary ugliness that the beautiful city refuses to examine.
