Misty Valley

Location from Berserk by Kentaro Miura

A fog-shrouded valley where a child-apostle built a fairy kingdom from stolen children — beautiful on the surface, nightmarish beneath.

Misty Valley was Rosine's domain after her apostle transformation — a place she shaped into the elf paradise she'd always dreamed of as a child. The mist concealed the truth: kidnapped children transformed into pseudo-apostle insects, playing 'games' that killed them, their bodies feeding the cycle. From the outside it looked enchanted. From the inside it was a slaughterhouse wearing a fairy mask. Guts came here during the Black Swordsman arc to hunt Rosine, and his battle through the valley is one of the series' most morally complex — he was killing a monster who was also a traumatized child, in a kingdom built from stolen innocence.

Appearance

A secluded valley perpetually wrapped in mist, with lush vegetation and an otherworldly atmosphere. The 'elf kingdom' within was a grotesque parody of a fairy tale — bioluminescent clearings filled with insect-like pseudo-apostles playing war games. The beauty was real; so was the horror beneath it.
