Sylph Sword

Item from Berserk by Kentaro Miura

A wind-enchanted blade crafted from eagle feather and mistletoe — giving a fencer the power to cut with invisible currents and fight things no rapier should touch.

The Sylph Sword was one of Flora's parting gifts to Guts' party, and it transformed Serpico from a skilled fencer into something that could actually survive against supernatural opponents. The sword creates cutting air currents on each swing — multiple simultaneous wind blades that can strike targets beyond physical reach. Paired with the Sylph Cloak, it makes Serpico a wind-powered combatant capable of aerial movement, ranged wind attacks, and defensive barriers strong enough to deflect lightning. Under full moon conditions, the sword's power increases significantly. It is, however, still fundamentally a magical item — conditions that neutralize magic render it an ordinary (and fragile) blade, which is why Serpico keeps his physical rapier as backup.

Appearance

An elegant, slender sword crafted from a white-shouldered eagle feather and mistletoe branch. It appears almost too delicate for combat — more ornamental than practical — until it activates and the air around it begins to move. Wind currents become visible as cutting lines extending well beyond the blade's physical reach.
