Pippin

Character from Berserk by Kentaro Miura

The Band of the Hawk's silent giant — a former miner who spoke in actions, shielded his friends with his body, and died making sure someone else would live.

Pippin almost never spoke. When he did, it was to offer an observation so precisely timed and worded that it changed the shape of the conversation. He communicated through presence — standing behind someone who needed support, stepping in front of someone who needed shielding, lifting something heavy so someone else didn't have to. He was a former miner, and he brought a miner's pragmatism to mercenary work — problems were things to be solved with the right tool and the right angle, whether that tool was a pickaxe or a mace. His bond with Rickert was brotherly and protective. During the Eclipse, he used his body to buy time for Casca and Judeau to escape, fighting multiple apostles with the same quiet determination he brought to everything.

Appearance

Massive and heavily muscled at 190 cm and 133 kg, with dark skin and black hair. His size made him look slow, but he moved with surprising efficiency. Wielded a spiked mace that he swung with devastating, economical force. His face was usually impassive — when he smiled, it meant something.
