Jill

Character from Berserk by Kentaro Miura

A village girl who watched her childhood friend become a monster and chose to stay human — one of the few people in Berserk who looked at escape and chose the harder, braver path.

Jill grew up in a village near Misty Valley, friends with Rosine before the girl disappeared and became an apostle. When Rosine returned offering to transform her into an 'elf,' Jill was tempted — her home life was miserable, her father abusive, and Rosine's fairy kingdom looked like everything she'd dreamed of. She chose to stay human. She chose a life of hardship over a beautiful lie built on kidnapped children. Guts' example showed her that survival without surrender was possible, even if it was ugly. She is one of the few characters who encountered the supernatural and walked away with her humanity intact by choice.
