Corkus

Character from Berserk by Kentaro Miura

The Band of the Hawk's most bitter voice — a failed thief who found purpose in Griffith's dream and resented anyone who didn't need it as badly as he did.

Corkus was the Band of the Hawk's designated pessimist. He distrusted Guts on sight and never stopped distrusting him, partly from jealousy over Griffith's attention and partly from the accurate suspicion that Guts didn't need the Band the way everyone else did. Corkus needed it desperately — before Griffith defeated his thief gang and absorbed them, he had nothing. He was abrasive, confrontational, and perpetually angry about something. But his anger came from a place of genuine devotion — he believed in Griffith's dream because believing in it was the only thing that had ever given his life direction. When Griffith fell, Corkus fell with him. During the Eclipse he died in despair, seeking comfort from a female apostle who killed him — a final, pathetic reaching for warmth in a world that had stopped making sense.

Appearance

Average build at 173 cm with black hair and sharp, cynical features. His face defaulted to a sneer. He dressed like someone who wanted to look tougher than he was — practical mercenary gear worn with too much swagger.
