Max's beat-up RV — the Tennyson family's mobile home base during the road trip, secretly equipped with alien weapons systems, emergency tech, and enough hidden compartments to make it effectively a Plumber field vehicle.
The Rustbucket is the setting for most of the Original Series — the cramped, bumping, always-moving home base that gives the show its road trip structure. Three people who are barely compatible are sharing a vehicle that isn't quite big enough, stopping at roadside attractions and gas stations across the American Southwest. It is also a weapons platform. Max has not told the kids the full extent of what's installed. He reveals capabilities on a need-to-know basis, which means Gwen and Ben keep being surprised by what the old RV can do. The Rustbucket has been damaged, rebuilt, and replaced over the course of the franchise. The original is the one that matters.
A large recreational vehicle that looks, at first glance, like it's been lived in by someone who takes a lot of road trips and doesn't spend much on upkeep. The exterior is weathered, the paint faded, the logo on the side cheerfully retro. Inside, it's surprisingly spacious, with cooking equipment, sleeping areas, and enough wall space for Max's alien tech collection. There are panels in the walls that, if you press the right spots, reveal things that definitely aren't camping gear.
