The Null Void

Location from Ben 10 by Man of Action / Cartoon Network

An alternate dimension used as a prison for intergalactic criminals — a harsh, red-sky wasteland where the most dangerous beings in the universe are sent when conventional incarceration isn't sufficient.

The Null Void is the universe's answer to the question of what you do with the beings too dangerous for conventional prison. Plumbers project criminals into it. Most never come back. Kevin ended up here. Aggregor ended up here. Various other dangerous entities that Ben has encountered have either been sent here or were already here when Ben first ran into them. The dimension has its own ecosystem — alien predators, criminal hierarchies, survival dynamics that have developed over decades of imprisonment. During Ben's 10-year-old era, the Null Void is mostly background — the place villains get sent. During Ultimate Alien, the Null Void becomes a setting and its internal politics become relevant. Kevin's time there changed him in ways that the series slowly reveals.

Appearance

A dimension with a permanent dark red sky, barren rocky landscapes, floating islands of debris, and an atmosphere that feels wrong in ways that are difficult to articulate. The light is dim and sourceless. Structures exist — Plumber-built facilities, prisoner-constructed camps — but nothing thrives here. Everything is slightly threatening.
