The upgraded successor to the Omnitrix — a device that adds the ability to evolve alien forms into ultimate versions under simulated extreme pressure, created by Albedo and completed by Ben.
The Ultimatrix was created by Albedo as a copy of the Omnitrix — specifically to recreate the original and get him out of Ben's form. He completed the evolutionary function that Azmuth never installed in the original: the ability to simulate millions of years of extreme survival pressure on an alien's DNA and produce an 'ultimate' evolved form. Ben ultimately got the Ultimatrix after the events that destroyed the original Omnitrix. The Ultimate aliens are dramatically more powerful than their base forms but carry their own complications — evolved for warfare and survival, they're more aggressive, harder to control, and occasionally have their own opinions about what should happen next. Azmuth disapproves of the evolutionary function. He built the original Omnitrix to promote understanding, not to produce maximally effective combatants. He is not wrong that these are different goals.
Similar to the Omnitrix in general design but with a slightly different casing and the addition of evolutionary spike technology around the faceplate. The Ultimatrix symbol features a different configuration. It fits on Ben's wrist the way the Omnitrix did but carries a slightly different weight — more capabilities, more complications.
