Ben's most bestial alien form — a mouthless, sightless orange predator who hunts entirely by scent and sound, with no ability to communicate and no desire to explain himself.
Wildmutt is Ben minus language. When he's in this form, there's no wisecracking, no explaining the plan to bystanders, no negotiating. It's all sensing and movement and the particular kind of certainty that comes from being the apex predator in whatever environment you're in. His sense of smell is so acute that he can track specific individuals across distance, identify people by scent alone, and detect things invisible to sight. High-frequency sounds are a significant weakness — the same sensitivity that makes him extraordinary makes him vulnerable to sonic attack. Ben gets a kind of satisfaction from this form that he doesn't usually examine too closely. It's simple. The target has a scent. You follow the scent. You find the target. There's a clarity to it that the rest of his forms don't have. He can't talk, which makes coordinating with Gwen and Max difficult. He communicates in body language. Gwen has gotten surprisingly good at reading it.
A quadrupedal orange alien that looks like what happens when evolution optimizes entirely for hunting at the cost of everything else. No eyes, no visible mouth — just nostrils at the sides of his neck, quills on his back for environmental sensing, and teeth that become apparent when he opens the hidden jaw. He moves low to the ground, fast and fluid, like something designed to chase things until they tire.
