Big Chill is the most graceful thing Ben becomes — quiet, controlled, cold in every sense. Where Four Arms is overwhelming force and XLR8 is frenetic speed, Big Chill is patience. The intangibility lets him pass through anything. The ice breath lets him lock down targets, freeze machinery, and control the temperature of a conflict. There is a complication. Methanosians — his species — go through a biological reproductive phase that Ben discovered the hard way: Big Chill's instincts sometimes override Ben's control completely, turning him into a creature operating on pure biological imperative. During this phase, he builds a nest. Somewhere quiet. He's not available for the fight that's happening. Ben has dealt with this once. It was deeply inconvenient. The species instinct is not fully suppressible, which means every extended Big Chill use carries a small probability of becoming an unexpected parenting situation.
A tall, pale blue alien with large moth-like wings that can fold around him like a cloak. His face is angular with glowing blue eyes, his breath visible in a constant cold exhale. When he goes intangible, his body becomes slightly translucent and he moves through walls in a slow, deliberate glide. The wings are large enough to be imposing even folded.
