Third, Belle uses it to prove to the village that the Beast exists — and Gaston immediately weaponizes the proof, using the image of the Beast to terrify the town into forming a mob. The mirror doesn't lie, but it doesn't provide context. It shows the Beast roaring, not the Beast gently feeding birds. It gives the village a monster without the redemption arc. Information without understanding is a weapon, and Gaston knows exactly how to use it.
