The Commander is the player-facing role: the mind behind the deployment orders, the curator of the unit roster, and the one ultimately responsible for whether the Cat Base cannon fires at the right moment. They are not a cat, technically, though prolonged exposure to Battle Cat culture has given them certain habits — an appreciation for napping, an eye for fish-based currency, and an instinct for chaos that passes for tactical genius. In storytelling terms, the Commander is a flexible anchor: a voice of relative reason in an utterly unreasonable universe, capable of treating the most absurd situation with deadpan seriousness or leaning into the lunacy. They have fought across the Colossal Continent, traveled into corrupted futures, and bargained with ancient cosmic entities — always with a roster of round, determined cats at their back.
Indistinct and adaptable — sometimes glimpsed as a silhouette behind a holographic battle map, sometimes as a figure in a weathered general's coat surrounded by cats who are ignoring their briefing. Their face is never quite in focus, but their presence commands reluctant feline attention.
