Shar's underground temple of trials — a labyrinth of darkness, sacrifice, and faith where Shadowheart must choose between the goddess who raised her and the truth about who she really is.
The Gauntlet was built to break people. Its trials are not tests of strength but tests of willingness — willingness to walk in absolute darkness, to sacrifice your own blood, to abandon what you see for what you believe. The architecture is obsidian and void, beautiful in the way that deep water is beautiful: mesmerizing, and it will kill you. For most parties, the Gauntlet is a dungeon. For Shadowheart, it's the defining moment of her life. The Dark Justiciars who failed the trials stand as undead sentinels. The Nightsong — Dame Aylin, immortal daughter of Selûne — is imprisoned at the bottom, and Shar demands Shadowheart kill her. The choice between obedience and mercy reshapes Shadowheart's identity, her appearance, and her relationship with the player. Few dungeons in any game carry this much character weight.
