Cazador's Palace

Location from baldurs-gate-3 by Larian Studios

An Upper City mansion hiding a vampire lord's centuries-old torture dungeon — where Astarion's past awaits as seven thousand souls and an Ascension ritual that could make him a god or prove he's more than his trauma.

The palace is beautiful and wrong. Upper City elegance — marble floors, silk curtains, tasteful art — gives way to a dungeon carved from nightmare. Cazador Szarr has spent centuries collecting vampire spawn, torturing them into submission, and preparing the Rite of Profane Ascension that will consume them all to make him an Ascended vampire. Seven thousand spawn are trapped in the dungeon, branded with infernal scars. Astarion is one of them — and the ritual needs him specifically. The palace forces the game's hardest companion decision: let Astarion complete the ritual himself and ascend to godlike power at the cost of seven thousand souls, or stop him and let him be free but mortal. The palace is Astarion's story distilled into architecture — beauty concealing centuries of abuse, power offered at an unconscionable price.
