Location from baldurs-gate-3 by Larian Studios
An abandoned village occupied by goblins, hiding a buried Underdark entrance, an alchemist's cellar, and the remnants of lives interrupted mid-sentence.
Houses stand with doors still open. A half-eaten meal rots on a tavern table. The villagers fled or died so fast that the village feels paused rather than abandoned. Goblins have moved in, but they treat it like a campsite — they don't understand the buildings they've occupied. Beneath the village, a hidden cellar contains an alchemist's failed experiments and a passage spiraling down into the Underdark. The sussur tree's anti-magic bark can be harvested here to forge silencing weapons. Every building rewards curiosity — locked doors hide journals, trapped basements hide treasure, and the windmill's machinery hides something worse. The village teaches you that in this world, the interesting stuff is always underneath.
