Item from baldurs-gate-3 by Larian Studios
A bioluminescent anti-magic flower from the Underdark's sussur trees — it silences all magic in its radius, making it both a weapon against casters and a crafting component for silencing weapons.
Sussur blooms grow on the massive sussur trees that are unique to certain Underdark caverns. The trees themselves generate a permanent anti-magic field — torches won't light, spells fizzle, and magical items go dormant within their radius. The blooms concentrate this effect into a portable form. Used in the Blighted Village's forge, a sussur bloom can be worked into a weapon that silences targets on hit — devastating against spellcasters. It's a reward for Underdark exploration and one of BG3's best examples of environmental storytelling: the world has consistent rules about how magic works, and clever players can exploit those rules. The bloom doesn't just silence enemies — it teaches you that the game world is a system you can manipulate.
