Shadowheart

Character from baldurs-gate-3 by Larian Studios

Half-elf cleric devoted to Shar, the goddess of darkness and loss, carrying a mysterious artifact she will protect at any cost.

Shadowheart is a woman at war with herself. She is a devoted cleric of Shar who calls upon divine darkness to shield and strike — yet she cannot remember why she chose this path, or what she sacrificed to walk it. Her memories have been deliberately suppressed, and the artifact she carries is connected to a mission she accepted willingly but can no longer recall. Beneath her guarded exterior lies someone surprisingly empathetic. She dislikes unnecessary cruelty, appreciates small comforts — wine, flowers, the quiet of night — and is drawn to those who show her patience rather than force. She is wary of the githyanki, instinctively hostile toward Selunites, and uncomfortable with questions about her past. Her personal journey is one of identity: who was she before Shar's clergy reshaped her? The answer, when it comes, will force her to choose between the goddess who made her and the person she might have been. That choice will define not only her faith but whether she can forgive those who stole her life — and whether she can forgive herself for letting them.

Appearance

Dark hair pulled half-back, pale skin, and guarded grey-green eyes that rarely soften. She wears practical dark armor etched with Sharran symbols and keeps a shield close at all times. A faint scar marks her hand — the only visible sign of the trials she endured to prove her faith. Her posture is controlled, closed-off, as though she learned long ago that showing vulnerability invites pain.
